Just a quick shout out to Forever The Sickest Kids, and a BIG CONGRATULATIONS. It’s just been confirmed that they’ll be making their debut appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien Thursday June 12th.
Set your Tivos now, after seeing these guys at Irving Plaza a few weeks ago I can guarantee it’s a performance you won’t want to miss.
Their debut disc Underdog Alma Mater has been on shelves for almost 2 weeks now, so no excuses for not being all about these guys yet. It’s hands down one of the most infectiously entertaining albums of 2008.

Big release day tomorrow in the world of rock. Newcomers Safetysuit go head to head with Between the Trees, battling for your CD dollars. Personally I think you pony up the $30 some odd bucks to buy them both. Trust me on this on; two very different bands, both equally rock:
Between The Trees display an indie rock flair heightened by their powerful, emotionally charged lyrics. They spent the past few months on the road with MAE (check out our live show review a few blogs back), and are about to embark on the world wind that is Warped Tour.
Safetysuit are straight up guitar rock, with a surprising touch of pop sensibility meddled into their lyrics-these guys will definitely satisfy a wide range of musical pallets. As soon as tour dates are announced, you know Vicarious Music will be bringing them to you.
Jump on their myspace.com pages and get a little advance taste. Stand out tracks: Between The Trees “The Way She Feels” and Safetysuit “Someone Like You”.

In honor of Forever The Sickest Kids release day instead of playing your boring standard Blackberry Brickbreaker, go to http://www.sickbreaker.com/ instead.
The boys have formulated their very own version, and they did it their way. The online version of the game features FTSK music and graphics. Don’t panic if you’re constantly on the go-a mobile version of the game coming soon.

We arrived at the venue hours before the show started, waited on lines snaking around the block, fought through mobs and masses just to put one hand on the stage. We crowd surfed, stage dived and bum rushed security all for a little taste of rock and roll glory.
Now years have passed and times have changed; I'm watching shows from the balcony instead of having my ribs crushed against the stage, and my feet always stay firmly planted on the ground. However my past has created an excellent gauge for the quality of a live show, just how far back does it bring me?
Being at the Forever The Sickest Kids show at Irving Plaza in NYC last Friday was like being in High School again, and god how I miss it! They create a party; on stage, off stage, in the rafters, down the block-I felt like the entire city HAD to be feeling the energy. It took me almost a half an hour to cross their autograph line and get out of the building. Their fans are NO JOKE and certainly were not going to let me get in their way.
This is what is timeless about music, there will always be fans and there will always be music-but how well do you connect the two? You're supposed to go to a concert and feel like the band is playing to only you (no matter whose elbow is digging into your side). That's where Forever The Sickest Kids have it right, in no time they figured out how to cut out the middle man and intimately and directly connect with the crowd. A mere two weeks at iTunes and already the audience out-sang frontman Jonathan on the chorus of "Whoa-Oh"…mind you the album doesn't come for another 2 weeks. This thing's going to be a monster!
Better get out to see them as they finished AP tour and Warped before they start playing MUCH larger spaces.
